On a quest to address these problems, The Sample Line was created for users to rent different pieces of diamond jewellery every month. What is The Sample Line

The Sample Line is an initiative of eClarity Diamonds, which is an award-winning jewellery brand. Founded in 2005, it is recognized for its gemologist consultation, design exclusivity, and top-notched craftsmanship — Specializing in bespoke engagement rings, wedding bands, bridal jewellery & anniversary gifts.

With the mission to empower beauty and sustainability, eClarity team created The Sample Line, which is a term used to describe a collector’s portfolio that keeps each and every first piece of masterpiece by reputable designers.

Over 17 years, eClarity has accumulated more than 1000 pieces of jewellery in their sample line, with multi-million worth of jewellery, including all kinds of gemstones and diamonds, ranging from sapphires, rubies, emeralds, morganite, even fancy coloured diamonds like black, pink and blue diamond. Precious stones like pearls, and jade are also among the many. These jewelleries are created as necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, and bangles.

These pieces are now available for rent, under a membership subscription app.

Subscribe now: How does it work?

The Sample Line functions on a monthly membership subscription basis. Becoming a member is simple: simply download the app from App Store or Play Store, fill in your details and submit.

The application will be reviewed and TADA! You’re in. The membership invite will be sent in a few days, and you could start browsing for their collections in the app.

After your membership is confirmed, you can now use the TSL app to view the virtual gallery, order, select a delivery time, and schedule a return.

Alternatively, you can schedule an appointment to view the 1000+ pieces at the gallery. The appointed time for viewing every week is every Wednesday 3pm, and Thursday 6pm. You could opt for these timings to have gemologist onsite for recommendation!

There is also a 24/7 WhatsApp available at the number +65 9298 1996 that allows you to talk to the team in real time and the TSL team will reply to you within 24 hours.

The first step is to decide which package to sign up.

The core package used to cost $199 per month, which entitles you to one piece of jewellery every 30 days. This core membership allows you to rent jewellery range all the way up to $12,000. The Sample Line continues to upload new products every end of the month ready for your selection for the next month. For the ones that have more exquisite taste, you could sign up for their GALA package, which has no upper limit of value for your selection. You could enjoy is at $199/ month for until end of this year!

Additional services: Extension, Care pack and more

You also have the option to add $59 to swap a second piece of jewellery. You’d need to return your first jewellery, before you can get your second, and it does not roll over to the next month.

If you wish to rent two pieces at one go, you could have it at extra $199/ month, now with promo, you could have at $99/ month with the promo LAUNCH99.

“What do I do if I need more than 2 pieces of jewellery?” TSL user Sandra asked.

“We currently do not rent out more than 2 pieces of jewellery to one user. However, we have brides who like to have the whole set of jewellery, they get their bridesmaids or sisters to create the account and rent the additional pieces,” Genevieve, Marketing Manager of The Sample line, shared.

Extension is also possible! If you wish to continue renting the same piece for the second month, you could very much do so. To do this, simply renew your subscription for a second month for the same price. Just go to your profile page and schedule for a new return date!

For Core plan subscribers who wish to rent a piece more than $12,000, there is no problem too. All you need to do, is to add on $80-$280/ month, depending on the value of the item. Prices are shown on the app, under product category.

And of course, for GALA plan subscribers, there will be no addition top up needed for you to rent pieces worth more than $12,000.

Care pack is also available! If you are worried that you might damage your item, you could opt for The Sample Line Care Pack which essentially insures you against accidental damage at $35/ month

The Sample Line’s rentals are delivered via their own private delivery. They’re wrapped in recyclable paper bags and eClarity’s branded jewellery box.

“We’re told not to throw the packaging away — they must be used to return the bag. I think this is good, it is a way to help minimise environmental impact, in keeping with the brand’s philosophy. Returns are arranged via the app: choose your desired time and date, and TSL private courier will come and pick up your parcel to send back to The Sample Line.” Julie recommended.

“I find myself being extra cautious with the jewellery because they’re rentals, but I am so relieved that TSL’s team can be easily reached with just a WhatsApp away, which is what members will need to do should they encounter problems with usage of the jewellery or needing advice on how to style,” said Sandra.

“I enjoyed the experience of having new jewellery every month to style my day with, without having to pay the full price, or commit to buying them without knowing if they’re right for me” Sandra emphasized.

“Surprisingly, the black diamond ring was also suitable for everyday wear: it made me realise I can definitely have shiny rings on my fingers without breaking my bank. “Julie exclaimed.

“Meanwhile, the starfish shaped blue sapphire earring firmly became my everyday favourite.” added Jolin.
